My girlfriend has a To30 that she wants to use on her small farm light brush hogging and maybe some grading with a box scraper. It needs a battery it has a 6 volt in it I?d like to put a 12 volt in it and change it to 12 volt neg ground for ease of use. And the three point hitch huds have a port on it is it one way gravity return for like a snow plow
 
If you are going to change to 12 volts than you also need to change your charging system. Ignition is easy,either add a resistor block to change 12 to 6 volts at the coil or swap in a new 12 volt coil. 12 volt single wire alternators are easy to get and this site has the alternator conversion mounting bracket. You might even consider swapping out the points for an electronic ignition, also here and an easy job to do. Actually everything is available here on the parts site. Good luck.

Ps don?t forget an overrun pto clutch for the brush hog
 
If a 6 V system is working proper why change to 12
I have a TO-30 6V and it works great if you are having a problem with starting
find out why then fix the problem .
 
It has what looks like a 6volt positive ground system and a 12volt lgenerator on it and a 6 volt battery that is no good so I was thinking for simplicity a simple 12 volt negative grind system would work good probably changing the coil to a 12volt coil and check out the generator to see if it?s working and if not put an alternator conversion on it like YT sells
 
The tractor came with a home made dump trailer with a hitch that locks the 3 point hitch arms down and it?s told that that is what is needed to make the trailer dump the tractor has a pipe to hook the hydraulic hose for the loader up on the opposite side of the transmission than the pto engage lever I?m wondering if I can hook the dump cylinder up to that line and use the hitch arm lever to dump the trailer as it only has single acting cylinder on it so would the fluid return through it
