What is this mystery bracket?

I am putting my TEA 20 (85mm) back together after replacing the rear crank seal and have rejoined the engine with the rear section. I am now reconnecting all of the things that were taken apart to allow the separation. Everything is going pretty well except that I have this L-shaped bracket (see picture) that I don't remember. I don't know where it goes and it is not in any of the pictures that I took during the separation. Does anyone recognize this bracket, what it does or holds and where it goes? Thanks, Ron

Does your exhaust go up, or into an exhaust pipe that runs back under the rear of the tractor? Looks like an exhaust pipe hanger, but I'm basing that on my old Ford.

Exhaust changed to go up but this is way too small to be an exhaust hanger. I'll take an additional picture with a small ruler to give it scale.

Here is a picture with a tape measure beside it. Note that it is about 1 3/4 " long so can't be an exhaust hanger. Ron
