58 Fergie TO-35 Diesel Rims

I am restoring my 58 Ferguson with the Standard diesel.

So....after sandblasting, priming, sanding, and painting my front rims, I went to get tires and tubes. After researching, I had determined that I needed 6.00X16 3 rib. I get to the tire store and the owner tells me that the rims looked like 15 inch rims. I never thought to measure them! He tells me that those rims require a 7.5L 15 tire.

The rims do look like Fergie rims. Based on the condition of the tractor, it appeared that it was never messed with. I thought everything was original.

My question is: since this is a diesel, are these rims possibly correct?

My TO 30 does have 6.00 x 16 tires on it, so I have the wonderful opportunity to sandblast and paint them if I need to. Not really looking forward to that.

Measure the TO30 rims and see if they are the same. The early tires had bigger/longer sidewalls because they require tubes. Modern wheels
are different as the tire seals on the bead of the rim and are tubeless.

Your rim has the proper offset so I would put the 7.5L-15 tires on it and not worry. The wider wheel gives more flotation also previous owner could have had a loader on it at one time.Scott

A couple of thoughts. I have similar rims on 2 TEA's. The 1st has 6" rubber and steers fairly well. The 2nd has 7.5" rubber and steers like a tank. The rims had to be flipped inside out so that the rubber did not rub on the spindles.
