TO30 temperature sensor fit, a common problem

I have seen several posts over the years about the probe being too long for aftermarket temperature sensors that are advertised for the TO30. I have now just bought one with the same issue, and a photo is attached. The probe hits the far side before the threads can engage. If I use an adapter, only a very tiny portion of the probe emerges at the far end into the coolant flow. Has anyone found a sensor that just screws in and fits without any adapter? If so, details on part number and source would be much appreciated. Thanks!
PS: an adapter from 3/8 flare (with 5/8-18 threads) on the probe I have to any 5/8-18 thread (straight, O-ring, flare) would work by extending the unit slight outward, but none seems to be available as far as I have been able to determine.

I think you'll be OK. As long as the end is in the flowing coolant the heat will transfer to the bulb. Just be sure the adapter is compatible with the threads and the seat up inside the housing.

Dealing with aftermarket parts is a game of chance, never really know what you'll get. Even buying from the same company, they just take what they can get, put their name on the box. The only way it will change is when they start getting too many complaints. If it doesn't fit, send it back, try another brand.
