If you got bolts-- retainer ring off then take large channel locks and turn housing and pull out. It has two places on retainer where ring fits is where I clamp. It has a O ring around housing (inside)that sticks and when you turn it comes loose.Keep turning and pull at same time. Drain oil since it has water in it.You need a seal to stop leak.

For clarity; when you say housing you mean the bearing housing?. And you think that the o-ring is what’s catching? I ‘ll run with that. I don’t think the shaft is bent, everything works great otherwise. Just preventative maintenance( breaking what was fixed).
