What causes lift arms to drop as soon as you turn key off?

Creeping down is normal, dropping is not.

Open the round covers on the sides, raise the arms, shut off the engine, quickly look in with a flashlight while the arms are coming down.

Look for evidence of oil raining down from above or boiling up from below. Wherever the oil is coming from is the problem. Minor leakage around the piston is normal, this will be a major flow if it is dropping quickly.
