I bought a set of rims off Marcus Ellinwood, he said he was in CA settling his fathers estate and had these, said the tractors had already sold and were headed to new homes. He was knowledgeable about the tractors and farming etc, I took the chance and sent money for the rims and freight charges. No rims have or are arriving needless to say.

I have bought and sold off YTMAG since the mid 90's...never been scammed or taken by anyone. Bought/sold tractors, parts etc from nearly all states....even Canada. To finally get taken is a shock, but goes to say never ever trust anyone now. there is a special place you know where for scum like this. His phone is a CA number but he claims to live in Billings MT, 415 910 0907. By no means send this guy money. He is a scammer.

Someone like that makes the rest of the seller like me Look Bad
Some of the things that can be done to make sure they are not someone out to get your money
Do a On-Line check on his E-Mail address and His Name. That persons name comes up in a Court case
If he gives a phone number it can be check on-line to see if it is good and the location. Checked the number you have for him and it looks to a burner phone from San Francisco
If you get a address do a Google map search and see what his location looks like. Farm -City?
One of the best is if buying something ask for More Detailed Pictures That someone can't copy from the Intenet
And never make a quick buy on a large item with out more details

He tried to scam me just now too.

Similar story (settling his fathers estate, lives in MT).

Many red flags:

1) He said he didn't have a cell phone, so could not send pictures of the items. Didn't know anyone with a cell phone.
2) Offered the items for too low a price
3) Said he had to do the deal right now, because he was leaving the area tomorrow
4) INSISTED on paypal friends and family, even if I paid extra with regular paypal. This should be a dead stop for anyone.
5) Didn't want to give me a name, but eventually said his name was David

SAME GUY!!! I needed the items so bad I let my honest nature and my never being fkd by tractor people before over ride my common sense! I am glad you caught it. I only lost $270 total....but it still burns my a55. This guy is a lowlife.

Sounds like somebody else that has been tarred and feathered on this board before. Complete scammer! Keep looking for the parts. You'll find them someday.

I just received a call from this same phone number responding to an add I posted looking for a McCord Oiler. Many of the same comments as posted in this chain. Said his name was Ed. I've blocked his number. I appreciate this feedback forum, likely saved me hundreds of dollars.

This douche just called me.

Not about tractor parts, but WW2 German Aircraft Parts.

Said he had 10 boxes of stuff he was throwing out from his Fathers/Grandfather's estate. Instruments, Joysticks, Aircraft parts, etc. All was in storage, and he threw out a lot of it already.

Told me he had a guy in NY want it all for $400...but this guy did not want to send him a check (stated he could not believe it, as it was good deal and would really only cover shipping)

Same story about NOT having a phone to send photos...not even able to email me...hahaha!

The beginning of the phone call sounded great...told me someone in Texas gave him my number. When I asked who it was, he made up the name, Norman.

Told him he could have thousands of dollars of items there...and NOT throw anything out.

As the convo was not getting anywhere (round and round in circles of him telling me he had these items...and sounding like he wanted me to send him a check for items sight unseen)...I asked him what it was that I could do for him.

Told him there is no way I am sending money to someone I do not know, for items I have never seen.

He said he totally understood.

He then pretended to have someone next to him, and he said to this invisible person, hey, do you think the realtor can send him photos??

He got back on the photo and said he would get is realtor to send me photos and would get back to me in 30 minutes.

By that point of time I knew it was all BS.

If everyone would take a monute and report this scammer to FTC.gov it may get them at least looking at him. It only takes a few minutes to report on their website.
