Fixing to put starter on F20 using flex plate and fabricate bracket for 12 volt starter. Question is anyone done this using flex plate that holes fit the universal coupling bolt pattern? Would like a 10 or possibly 12 inch size plate. any pictures of others mounting would be nice also. also what is the size of coupling bolt pattern on the F20. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Thought of trying to find heister set up but not wanting to pull flywheel

If you don't use the F20 very much I would belt start it if you have another tractor with a pulley. I start my old Toro mower using a belt off my Wards tractor. Sure beats rope starting.

Which ever plate you use dont forget to use the starter that goes with it. Ive seen several with flywheel fastened to the shaft and a bracket holding the starter works well sure saves cranking.

If you get something figured out I would like to see a picture. I am trying to do the same thing with my Farmall 15/30. At least on my project I think I will have to use a starter that mounts with the front toward the engine in the original application not pointing toward the Trans.

Back when these tractors were used some had small gas engines mounted on the belt pulley side crank one and let it crank the other it also give them a few more horse's when needed in the field , May not look correct .

I would use a flat belt on the pulley of another tractor to turn the pulley on the 15-30 for starting. We pull started our 10-20 when the engine was damp. Hal
