Drive your tractor to school day

Just saw on the local news a school district just south of me (we are in western NY) had a drive your tractor to school day. News showed a big articulated JD, a Steiger and a Super M with nice paint job. Its a rural area with lots of agriculture. Its too wet around to farm anyway. Thought its a neat idea. Not many schools would be able to do that.

Pretty common thing here in central IA. We had one every year sponsored by the FFA. Tough part was finding a day to do it when you could have the best turnout between sports, farming and weather.

Here in W.Pa. our local school does it every year. This year it will be June 5. My close friends son wants to use one of my tractors. The kids all meet at a local feed store and they have a police escort from there to school. They get about 20 to 25 tractors. They take mostly back roads but some yuppies always get upset about slowing down on there way to work.
In the past I have known a lot of these kids and they are all good kids.

School district I live in did it Tuesday this week. Wife made mistake of dropping daughter off at school that day on way to work. Said it was a pain getting in and around school but neat seeing all the kids with all the tractors. My daughter who is in 2nd grade said she can't wait till she gets older so she can drive her Pony (MH) to school.
