please see posts on same subject from 5/12 if you'd like to weigh in. I've tried/checked out all suggestions without success so far. Sorry to be a pest but I need help. Thanks to those who have tried to help thus far.

A real test. Remove the couplers and use a heavy pipe fitting/s to directly connect the hose to the tractor. If no joy, it is the tractor hydraulics. This is a sure test to eliminate bad couplers. Jim

I have been thru this again and again the last couple of weeks. I also use the adapters but they are not the problem in my case. On those old IH fittings they can LOOK like they are hooked up and may even stay inserted when you tug on them but at least one of them is NOT hooked up enough to allow flow. This generally happens when there is excessive pressure in one of the cylinder lines. Do what Allan and Delta Red told you to do. Here is how I do it:

1) Put on eye protection as fluid can spray.

2) Take each hose and push the ball against a frame on the implement and hold it there while fluid flows out. One should be pretty dramatic.

3) Push the tractor female fitting all the way back so the balls lock in place.

4)I take a small pein hammer and put the ball part in the back of the tractor fitting and push it forward until I see the balls relax then push in the male fitting all the way THEN remove the hammer and push the fitting back to lock the male in the female. Keep firm pressure on the hose (male) side until the fitting moves back to lock.

I would think close to 99% that your problem is right there. If it worked before it probably works now but it will never work until you complete the circuit. Like I said, I have had to do this a dozen times in the last week. Always try to get pressure out of the lines before you disconnect or you will take a lot of showers in fluid. HTH

had a similar problem with a 255 mf was using it to disc with had been working fine, then it wouldn't lift the disc the hyd lever kicked back to neutral next try it would lift, it done this several times before quiting,my first thought was the hyd line had ruptured internally and the rubber piece was blocking the flow so I uncoupled both hoses hit the end against the disc tongue no fluid loss to speak of,hooked them back up hit the lever it kicked off, pushed the lever to the down position it kicked off again this time the lower hose jumped,so I removed that coupling end nothing, in desperation I removed the other one and noticed the ball was loose and found the retainer for the spring that holds the ball against the seat had come loose, when that happened the male coupling ball didn't have enough pressure to open the one in the female coupler causing the problem, before you go to far get a 4000 psi guage and adapt it to a male coupler preferably with a length of hose so you can position it for easy reading and check your system pressure check all the ports for there's no way all of them have gone bad at the same time
