ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS?

I have this Hi Crop that I am bringing up from Argentina and I cannot tell what model it is. It has the old style sheet metal on the front and the new style steering column? I think it is a Super MDV? Thanks for the help.

Humm, I've seen pics of Australian built models using a newer style front and the old teardrop fuel tank but not the other way around.

I'd guess it's something IH made overseas that
wasn't ever sold here. Since we've never seen one we
think it's odd. Back in the day they made different
stuff for different markets. It could be it better
served a purpose down their than what we made in the
US OR maybe the marketing folks down there really
liked the old style grill and convinced others they
needed to keep it to maintain a brand identity.

WHAT the WHHHAT!!!! Wow if you get that up here I would not touch anything on it. Just take it to shows and let the guys breath and drooool all over it. Crazy and neat all at the same time. Good luck!

Thats a very interesting tractor, I would like to see more pictures, especially the other side and the rearend, SMD with luxury seat and steering wheel, does it have power steering? And I"m curious about how you found this, and how do you ship it, and what does it cost to get it here?

Looks like the one that was on Craigslist about 4 years ago. The guy was from Indiana, I believe, wanted to sell it before it was in the states. Whole thing screamed "FRAUD".

Interesting! I don't think it is anything that was built in Australia. Tractors tended to get an 'A' prefix for being built here. So Farmall AM, Super AM, AMD, Super AMB. In the standard series, AW-6, Super AW-6 (also in Diesel); AW-7 and AW-7 Diesel. There, of course, exceptions. Farmall A and H tractors did not get the 'A' prefix and the Farmall M and AM saga can be confusing, especially where serial numbers are concerned.

Australian built implements often had a GL prefix. My plough is a GL-70. My tractor mower is a GL-25-VO. Number 9 mowers were built as GL-9.

Be interesting to see if there is a "teardrop" fuel tank under that later model steering and dash. It may even just be covering a power steering unit of some sort. As for the seat, lots of tractors have had later or aftermarket seats installed... my 240U does. Betting it's just a farmer modified MD or SMD High Crop. Even moved the headlights to the front when the light bar was removed.
