Weight of drums on a IH 622

I don't know, but I am encouraged that someone else on this site is interested in the 622 cotton picker. We had two of them that were destroyed after my dad died, by two unnamed relatives whose motives I still don't comprehend. I never even got to drive either of them and I think about it more often than I care to mention. Where did you get yours, and do you have any pics of it? Thanks, Hugh

Hugh , I got mine last year, it was not complete someone had stolen some parts but I found 2 doner ones. I will run them as picker roods if I can and that's why I need to know how much wheight the arms can lift. If u want I can send u some picturesby text!

Unable to locate an exact weight, but later model row units are about 1100 lbs each. These are aluminum bars and smaller diameter spindles. I would guess that a 622 row unit would be in the 1600 to 2000 lb range.

Is a ( rood ) ground harvester . It picks cotton from the ground that falls or gets knock down by the picker, wind, hail or rain.

So it uses the fans to suck it up into the basket? That is pretty interesting. Thanks for sending the photos, they brought back a lot of memories, of course we didn't usually see them with the baskets off of them, except when transporting them; we would sometimes take the top off. By the way, we called it a basket, but I think the "correct" name is a "hopper". By the way, is yours a hydrostatic, diesel? And about the cabs, do yours have tachometers? I couldn't even remember if ours did or didn't, they were severely vandalized after my Dad passed away, and I have always wished I had taken some pictures of them. Thanks again, Hugh
