I need some help. I was looking at the for sale ad.s in the paper and found a 1948 h farmall for sale for $1250. wide front ( after market) nice paint good tires. it ran grate when put away. (the owner is been disabled for some time) new batt but the carb has been all gunked up from siting. is this a good price? (iam a jd-ford-f20 man) thanks for your help. Bob
 
A little steep for a nonrunner.But still OK if everything else is good,especially tires.The wf makes it worth more,does it have a 3 point?That also helps.Carb kits are cheap.If it runs,it could be a $1500 to $2000 tractor.
 
I second what Delta indicates. Tires are a deal breaker. If the engine turns, it is probably reasonable. Jim
 
Steve it has no 3pt. iam going to look today after noon. if I buy it ill pull it to a buddys place to store till the weather warms up a bit. thanks guys. ill keep you pasted on whats going on. Bob
 
As expensive as new tires have become in the past 5 years, it is worth $1,000 just for the tires!
 
Sounds just like one for sale in Gowrie, IA. As the others have said, carb kits are cheap. If the tires are in good shape the tractor alone is worth $1000 plus another $500 for the wide front.
 
well boys iam the proud owner of a farmall h. it came with a extra front end ( narrow) it also came with some small problems like wireing and outher small little thing. I cant post the pictuers. but I can email them to some body if thay will post them for me. thanks Bob
