Hey,(Been a LONG time since I posted anything.
I have made comments on this before, but it is
STILL relevant and ALWAYS on my mind.)

As some/many of you know,I am a "die hard" M/Super
M fan from day one. I think that they are one THE
GREATEST tractors ever made PERIOD! It is the
cheapest thing I ever bought and also the machine
that has done THE MOST for me than any other thing
I have ever owned. NO JOKE! :)

OK,to the point: It STILL kills me that MOST parts
on line for the M/SM average $50-$100 bucks for
just about any piece,(minus some small items), but
I can still buy a complete,running M for $1000.00
to -$1500.00 for a good,running tractor complete.
(NOT a PERFECT machine, but fixable and useable)

I see why guys are buying them complete and taking
an impact wrench to them, making parts out of them,
and shipping them off,(PROFIT!!!)but it is sad to
me at the same time. :(

I guess with out "donor tractors" for parts, other
tractors cannot live? :/

Just "venting" here.

Maybe mine will be worth more when their all parted out, got about $3500 in it and still trying to match a rear tire, trying to remember why I bought it.

I have a parts M in the back corner of the shed. I hate to think the money I would be out without it. My running M has a clunk in the rearend - I will do a whole rearend swap before long. That wouldn't be possible without that sitting there waiting.

I use that tractor every day so that parts machine makes my 70 year old tractor be an integral part of the farm. That's pretty amazing. Sure not something those folks that made it would have dreamed of.

The engine was a mess on the parts tractor so I didn't junk a "good" tractor. It had to have everything else be decent though to make it worth it. Like you say, one has to die so others can live.

That's sure a purdy M - mine would cry if it saw this picture. If I made mine look new I'm afraid I wouldn't want to climb on it each day!

Mike, long time....

I know what you mean. I came into some H's last year and have can'd 2 of them and may part on a 3rd, but I was able to save 3 and get 2 of those running so far. Also sold some parts to help others get theirs going. Kind of a bummer when you see ads on CL where they show a whole tractor but a price list for a bunch of parts.

I also ended up with a 350LP minus the motor. If I had got to it first I could have had a fairly rare tractor. A puller got the motor though to put in an H! At least I have some more parts to backup my 300LP.

Most machines are worth more as parts than as a complete machine, especially implements. The tough part is finding buyers for most of the parts.

On the bright side, any parts sold are definetly being used to bring another machine back to life.

I also check the organ donor box and give blood, but other than the blood I'm not sure anyone will want the worn out parts when I'm done with them.

Another thing is the breaker yard guys show up at auctions and out bid almost everyone. It has been on here several times. So sad.
