1939 farmall h

I have 1939 farmall h that I am getting ready to sell. ordinarily I would put it in the $1200.00 range. It came on full steel from the factory and does not have 5th gear. does the lack of a 5th gear make a difference in its value. wasn"t sure if this was a rarity and worth more? wish full thinking maybe?

You are a 3/8" bolt away from having 5th gear. It isn't worth a nickel more because of it.

It doesn't make much difference being a full steel tractor from the factory but if its a 39 with most of the 39 features then it can bring a premium

Like has been posted already, if someone is looking to put together a "real deal" 1939 H, with the pig trough, dual fuel, shutters, etc.etc, you might get a better price, but you will look/wait longer for a buyer.

like other said, if its a 39 with original parts on it , gear cover w/ cut out ,small PTO , & frame rails with rubber type mounts on engine , kero manifold , shutters , starting tank . & so on, its worth something to a collector, all tractors have 5th gear w/ steel it just locked out , steel wheels can go both ways on price thow , nice for collectors piece that never moves , but bad if you want to use it , most shows wont let ya parade steel wheels , too much damage to grounds , & with the price of tires today ,rubber actually bring up price if in good shape, it in the eye of beholder, either way nice piece though

Is it still on full steel? Or converted to rubber? I personally don't put any value on cut down wheels with rim welded on. I just think they look tacky. But nothing wrong with factory rubber wheel's, or steel for that matter. Your 5th gear is just blocked out, but its in there. They were blocked from factory on all steel wheel units. There is 1 bolt in the plateform you can take out and put a shorter one in, is all you need to do to un-block it. If complete and original, 39's seem to be worth a little premium. Hard to say not knowing some of the particulars.
