Farmall Cub Side Hill Hitch?

What is a side hill hitch for a Farmall Cub? I have never heard of the term and a gentleman asked me today regarding a 193 Plow Depth Lever that I have for sale.

Cubs don't have a side hill hitch like the bigger tractors have (H and M). Cubs do have a swinging drawbar that you can lock into a left or right position, but it can't be done from the seat.

Maybe he is referring to a double depth control lever used on the 189 plow??

I had a side hill hitch on an H parts tractor once. It is a device
which bolts to the drawbar and has a long lever that comes up to
where you can reach it. By moving the lever you can slide the
swinging drawbar from side to side. I understand than they were
used for plowing on a side hill to keep the plow aligned with the
previous furrow.

With the Cub only using a one bottom plow none was needed thats why there isnt any available. Your buyer sure doesent know about a plow for a cub so probably wouldnt even know how to plow or he wouldnt have asked the question

I have a sidehill hitch on my H. Sure is handy when plowing on a hill side with a trailer plow (not up and down the hill). I just reach about a foot to the right-rear of the tractor seat, squeeze the lever and the drawbar moves over very easily to compensate for the side drift of the plow...on the run.

I never heard the term when I lived in flat-land Iowa, but here in the Wisconsin hills they are well known. At shows, when someone asks what the lever is for, I know that person is a flatlander!

Yeah, he said that part wasn't what he was looking
for, but I figured that with the question he asked.
Just wanted to make sure and clarify though and now
I have learned something I didn't know! Thanks for
the hillside plowing lesson guys!
