Well, it snowed here in Mid-Missouri last night and is to continue all day. I have a 1954 Farmall Super C tractor with a Fast-Hitch mounted on it, along with a Dozer blade mounted mid-ship and hooked to the draw bar on the Fast-Hitch and suspended from the hydraulic levers behind the engine. It works pretty well since I can put the entire tractor weight on the dozer blade. The trouble I am having is the blade can be rotated back and forth on a 7/8" diameter bolt just behind the blade, and is located with a pin through holes in the back of the support frame. Well, the pin through the holes in the back of the frame don't line up anymore, and it was evident that the 7/8" bolt was getting worn into the metal. So I removed the bolt to discover that it had lost maybe 1/8" of its diameter to wear, and the hole through the plow support is also worn badly. I was going to take this out and weld it back up and redrill it, but discovered that there is a bushing in there. Since I need the plow today and tomorrow, I can't take it apart yet to do the repair. Does anybody know what the bushing configuration or dimensions are? Or what might be in there around the 7/8" bolt? Also might anybody know what dozer blade this might be and where I might get a manual for it?

I would try Binder Books. He has EVERYTHING!! He even had the one I needed for my C-294 Belly Plow, I don't know his URl, but I just googled him last time. Bryce

got to plow snow tonight, cold but spent about 2 hours pushing snow, the old SA worked like a champ, really had fun. Hope all is ok your way, nice to see a bunch of Mid Mo people on here.

Does it look something like this but only mounted under the belly. I think mine is a C-72, I could be wrong on that but I know it will mount either way. Farmall Hal is full of information on all the Super C attacthments.

Hello Paul, yes that is the one. My father bought this tractor from a local school back in the mid-1960's. They had it mounted on the front and used it for pushing snow. When I was a kid we used it in the fields for field work and never mounted the blade on it. About 20 years ago my father gave me the tractor and one of my main uses for it was pushing snow on our 1/2 mile long driveway on our farm. But I am missing a few of the mounting pieces and could only mount it in the middle of the tractor, where it works very well. I would like to find a copy of the original manual so I might reproduce the few mounting pieces I am missing. And also have the parts list so I can do the current repairs on the pivot bolt bushing. Although I could just go out there and remove it I guess. But in cold weather and heavy snow its easier to look at pictures in the manual so I know what I am getting into when I go work on it.

I think I would trade you jobs. I'm in and out warming up from having to change out a CV joint axle on a car that let me down yesterday in the nice warm white stuff that is falling. And yes having to do it in the snow here at the lake of the Ozarks. I may have Hals phone number so I may try to let him know if I can find it that is. Or maybe e-mail him

The only problem we are having in the snow here East of Jefferson City is deciding who is going to walk the half a mile down to the mailbox to get the mail. And I was more lucky on my car. We threw a big chuck of rubber out of the serpentine belt yesterday but it didn't break. I drove it home at 40 miles an hour and stopped and got one on the way. Since I made a special wrench to loosen the belt the last time I replaced it, it was a half hour job for my wife and I. Is Hal local to Mid-Missouri? I put the 7/8" pivot bolt back in the dozer blade so I can use it when the snow stops. But the hole needs to be repaired so it also doesn't damage the line of rear holes that are used to angle the blade.

East of Jeff well I was up in Jeff and Columbia yesterday. V.A. Appointment. Wife and son just got back from the mail box and said no mail yet so maybe the mail person is not doing there job today due to the weather or in a ditch. Farmall Hal lives down around Rolla

We probably didn't get any mail here either. I can't quite see the mailbox from the house with the binoculars but it looks empty anyway. But all we ever get is junk mail asking for contributions or bills. So we figured that today wasn't the day to walk that far in the snow. So maybe tomorrow I'll pick it up on my way by plowing snow with my Super C.

My driveway is a full mile long so no way to see the box from here. Plus have a nice hill with a curve at the bottom and top so can be fun to get out at times. Son and wife checked it in his 4X4 Toyota pick up

Hopefully Farmall Hal we see this. I think he has a manual for just about everything. He made a me a photo copy some years back when I was working on mine. I will have to dig around and see If I can find it if Hal does not see your post. He is very helpful on the old Farmalls.
