Super C Touch Control lever springs

While I'm waiting for the rebuild kit for the Touch Control itself I'm going through the levers as one side is very tough to move. I see there are coil springs in there, and mine appear to be rusted pretty well. How do they come out? It looks like they have snap ring of some kind? I also can't get the end with the double nuts to unscrew, or is it not necessary to remove it?

Are those springs still available?

Usually spray with wd-40 or something and that will free the lever as it has worked for me got to take time and go easy as those levers on the ones i have worked on the lever was held with a roll pin to the shaft.

Doesn't nesceasarily have to come apart. Lots of penetrating oil, letting it soak, & moving it back and forth should get it freed up.

I've never had to replace the springs. I have had to replace the friction pads. You want them loose enough to easily use but not so loose they won't stay in position.
