Tractor Tires

I need two new front tires for my farmall 460. What is a good brand to get and where? Is there a good online store/site? I don't want junk. I do a lot of loader work. Thanks.

I have firestones tri rib on my Farmall with NF, put high flotations on my 6610 with WF. I really like those wider tires on loader tractor.

The best place to buy tires will be at your local Farm and ag tire dealer. If you're not happy with those tires, you don't have very far to go and complain.

Gensco Aircraft tires (Texas)Mounted on implement rims.About 20 plys, rated for something like a bazillion lbs and 300 mph.Local fertilizer guy says they're the only tire to last over a year on nurse tanks.

On my loader tractor I have some retreads with implement tread on 7.50-16 10 and 12 ply steel belted truck tires which our local ag tire dealer has made up somewhere. I had all kinds of flats due to thorns when cleaning up some brushy areas when I retired and moved back to the farm 12 years ago. I have never had a problem since putting them on my tractor. I had a brand new pair of regular tri-rib tractor tires before them which were very thin between the ribs and very prone to punctures from thorns. The only problem with the implement tire tread is when making tight turns as they will tend to scoot on the ground more so then a ribbed tire.
The last front tractor tires I have purchased were Firestones but I believe they are no longer made in the USA for the size I got for a Super C. I have been trying to find some new wide floatation tires for my New Holland 311 hay baler made in the USA but they have been very difficult to come by as everything I've found so far is foreign made, Hal.

The best thing you could do for your baler would be old aircraft tires. Hay Tire here in town does a good business supplying all of us with implement tires. They are rugged and have good sturdy side walls. They are outstanding on grain and seed carts, too.

You could go with Miller Tire, they know what they are talking about when it comes to tires. Other than that you could just go to your local tire guy. If your doing a great deal of loader work I'd look for the highest ply tire you can find and buy American. ~Anthony

Millers are great folks, canfind about anything. My experiences are they're pricey. That plus shipping .....Buy local"cheaper that way"
