My 806 suddenly lost all forward gears but has reverse, however when I was trying to get back to the shop it made some bone crushing noises every so often like a slow gear running into a fast gear? If any one could help I would greatly appreciate the help, I really need her this winter.
Thanks.

When you get the floor board off it will be the one with the linkage going to it. About a foot wide and 8 inches long front to back. When you pull it off look for the roller that is on the cam. Like said either the rail shaft is broke or the fork. Might also be one of the rollers is missing can let the gears touch. There are 3 rollers . 1 on the cam 1 on the pivot i on the fork.

I have the entire set of gears hanging on nails inside of my truck shed.

Like others said, range cover and side cover off. I am sure you will find the high low fork laying off the shift rail. Either rail broke or set screw or cap screw came out of fork. Couple different styles went into production. Then you may need to pull rear 3rd link cover and long arm reach in over differential to grab rest of rail. If broken it probably will come out the front. But to install a new one, it is from the back. I use a still hose to guide rail over differential. Different ways to do this, what ever work.

Yep, broken rail. I'm assuming the third link cover is on top under the seat? Could a person machine a two pece rail and get it to go into the front? Was thinking about some reverse engineering for that bolt hole in the shaft, not the best design!
Trying to avoide removing the cab, just getting at this cover was a buga.

The top link cover is just above the PTO on the rear.

A shift rail could be easily made that emulates the rail used in later tractors that retains the shift fork with a small wire snap ring on each end of the fork.

Would that cover be on top under the cab rear or should it be right in my face looking at the rear, I'm not seeing any thing that looks like a cover plate on the rear unless its under the third point receiver.
Thanks for the C clip idea, that's perfect.

If you have a two point hitch there will be a cover over the hole just above the PTP. If you have a three point hitch the hole will be covered by the third link bracket. It is held on with six 5/8" bolts.

Yes.Pull the floor board. Then you can see the range cover. It should be pretty 'selfexplenetory' on how to remove it.Fron the side, the only fork you can see is the reverse idler. But you still need to remove the range cover. And just for your information, the speed cover is sandwiched between the steering support and the transmission.

Ohhhhh man, is that the cover just below the steering tower?
Any way to see the shifting forks from the side ? It just quit without a sound or hickup.
Thank you very much for your help
