Early 806 3PT Lockout Brackets

I don't suppose anyone has the part number? I'm going to guess they fit the rear castings on ser. no's 501 to 20381. I have tried the 384025R1 brackets & they don't fit, no matter which way I turn them.

Thanks,
Mike

the serial no. break for the new style 3 pt hitch is 33162/33163 for Farmall tractors. not sure what change you're thinking of at 20381. but 384025R1 is what my book lists for early and late 3 pt as well as the U shaped "vertically adjustable drawbar."

2 point hitch uses lockout bracket 386172r1 but the bolt pattern should be the same as the other one.

The Case IH parts page lists two rear end castings for the F- & I- 806. One is a 380361R2 that fits Farmall 806s with the serial number from 501 to 20381 & Internationals to 5008. The other rear end casting, with the part number of 390365R2, covers the rest of the F- & I-806s 'till the end of production. I'm only guessing the bolt hole spacing changed with the major casting code change. It could have been in the change between 380361R1 to R2. All I know is, my rear end casting is the former R1 & the newer hangers don't fit.

hmm.. all of the tractors here are earlier than 20381, but looking at the parts book TC-100 revision 9 issued 2-'71, the later rear frame, 390965r21 also calls for 2 of 444788 plug, 1/2-14 auto sq-soc pipe and 1 of 9409949 plug, 3/4-14 auto sq-soc pipe whereas the earlier rear frame 380361r21 does not.
here's another puzzle- the note under 380361r21 reads: order frame, 390965r31 & two cases, 392075r1

notice the part numbers. it wasn't a change from r1 to r2, it was a different number. the way the system works is a change from r1 to r2 of the same number means the parts are interchangeable but updated.

as for your problem, it doesn't seem like IH to change the bolt pattern for no good reason, but you never know. are you SURE you got the right lockout brackets? the ones i've got have 4 holes but you only use 3 and i think you can rotate them any way cause it's a square bolt pattern.

hope this helps...

As sure as I can be, I guess. The brackets I received from the Depot were the right number, but they were three hole & not four. The number was cast on the back of the bracket, so.....?

I'm going to see if they were sent back yet. Maybe I can get a pic of them & post it. The tractor, too. Then, hopefully, something will fall into place.

Now i may be wrong on this BUT they were only used on tractors with fast hitch that did not have the drawbar and used the fast hitch draw bar . IF you did not use the lock out brackets with a fast hitch draw bar while using any PTo drive implement there was a chance of the drw bar being pushed up and snapping off the PTo shaft or while pulling a heavy load the draw bar could be shoved way up and cause the tractor to be shoved over by the load while going down hill. My 806 is and early one with fast hitch and has them but i have the under slung draw bar with draw bar support and i never use mine . NOW my one friend has a early 806 with fast hitch and no under slung draw bar and he does not use his and we will not go into how many PTO 540 shafts that i have had to put in his over the years Due to him bumping the control lever by accident or by the two implement pushing up on the fast hitch . But my advice is to just get a underslung draw bar and the bracket for that draw bar and for get about the brackets UNLESS you going to tractor pulls and pulling off the fast hitch .

The brackets aren't all that important. As a matter of fact, they're a Band-Aid for a bent drawbar. I don't know what one has to do to bend the telescoping drawbar, about 3" left of center & up a touch, but it was done before I got it & I betcha that guy ended up burner-over-tea kettle, judging by the bent seat back. So I figured, while I save up & search for a replacement, I can just use the 3pt drawbar. The only task it would need it for is the baler. Otherwise, it will be my primary tillage tractor. Won't need the brackets then.

Shoot! They left yesterday, already. I'll get a couple pic's of the tractor & post with measurements tonight.

Revision NINE?! Yikes! I thought mine was "up to date" with revision three. Looks like the bracket's going to be in the first &/or the unrevised edition. Ohhh, that sounds expensive already.

i also have a copy of revision 3. the pages dealing with the rear frame and the 3 pt hitch are the same. there are some differences, like revision 3 doesn't have the later style 3 pt lift arms, doesn't have roosa master injection pump, not sure what other differences offhand.

My mistake! Just went out to check the tractor. there are 4 tapped holes on the rear frame arranged in a square, the bracket would have 3 holes. sorry for the confusion.
