Tracing a wire on my 1586

Running out of day here and I have to meet the nephew out on the farm before dark to show him where he needs to hunt to thin out the hoofed locusts.

There is a wire in the right fender coming out of the light harness and it has a black snap on connector. I believe this wire is the one they mention in the manuals as a hot lead for implement accessories...in this case the auto row markers on a corn planter. I have the floor pulled up in the cab but the harness disappeared into the side of the fender and I cannot identify it again in the area visible to me. The wire in question is green and white (might have been black and white back in the day). Can anyone tell me if I am tracing the correct wire and, if so, where I might find the other end of it? I believe it needs to be hooked onto a 10 amp breaker to get power to the control box. If I am on the wrong track it would be nice to know that too. Any help appreciated!
 
Does it go to a funny-shaped multiconnector on the back of the tractor near the hydraulic connectors? I'm not at home right now but I'll try to look on mine and see what it has, I'll let you know. Hugh
 
Hugh, the wire in question is green and white and located in the right fender where the light connection is. It has a black Packard style connector on it. It exends out of the wire harness loom for the lights a few inches and has nothing connected to it. I am trying to trace the wire harness back to the source and see if I can find this wire and use it to power my control box. I was hoping someone could tell me where this wire might be found on the other end.

I am quite sure the much thicker loom harness going into the fuse box is, in fact the harness I am referring to combined with the left side harness and probably others. There are two wires coming out of this into the fuse box and they both are inserted into the same style (packard) connector as in the fender. Just a little confused about why two wires instead of one since there is not a loose lead in the left fender.

Confused yet? Me too.
 
looking at the schematic I see a black with white tracer going to the bottom fuse that exits where you are talking about, it is an implement connector
 
Okay, well, I found the white and green wire under the right fender near the right rear light...the connector on mine is grey, but I'm sure it is the same....it is not connected to anything, but is just a "pigtail" as the oldtimers used to call a connection that is not being used and just hangs there. It of course goes forward through a conduit above the right rear tire, and then through a couple of rubber grommets through the side of the cab, and from there, towards its source. I have got out my continuity/multitester, and I will remove the floor of the workstation and see if I can trace it out....just for fun, does it really matter what it was for originally, as long as it works? Just sayin'. (I'm not "up" on these newfangled control mechanisms, all we had back in the day was a rope that you pulled on to make it go up or come back down...for real! Hugh
 
Thanks Hugh! If it is what I think it was for it is the hot lead for the implement control. This is new to me also having mostly done what you say...pull a rope and it does whatever it does! If you can check continuity there is another connector in the fuse box with TWO wires going into it. Don't know what the second one would be but it would the first thing I would check. Thanks again!
 
Thats what I am hoping it is, but it won't go to that bottom fuse until someone connects it. At the moment I am trying to find that end of it so I CAN connect it! :)
 
Glad to know we are on the same page technologically! I traced the white wire with the green stripe, it basically goes under the cab, roughly directly below the seat, until it ends up on the left side of the tractor, that is, to the left of and behind the starter, which is of course in the center of the tractor at about the 12 o"clock position of the tractor (I mean it is basically between your feet). Anyway, it goes from there into either the fuse box or towards the instrument cluster/dashboard, and I couldn"t rub off enough dirt to see which it was. More to come. Hugh
