Farmall Power Steering

Hey guys! Wondering if anyone has any pictures of how to mount a power steering pump on an MD? I have a small assortment of power steering parts and am hoping I can get something going on my MD.

Also, does anyone have or know where I can find a resevoir for my pump like the one shown in the picture? My resevoir like the one pictured seems to have dissapeared. I have looked online and not been able to come up with anything. Thank you!!

Awesome thank you! Would you happen know if the crank pulley from a gas M will work on an MD? Are the fan spacers required on the MD as well? Thanks again!!

If I recall the pump is a Saginaw which were used by a lot of car companys. A lot of guys say they have good luck matching up with older GM products especially Cadillacs.

I was able to find the front crankshaft fan drive pulley from a 450 Diesel that I parted out last winter and the powersteering drive pulley that I have for a power steering project on my 1939 Farmall M that I plan on getting to this winter fits to the front of the Diesel pulley. The PS pulley has #5515 cast in and the Steiner book says that's the part number for the M-400 450 gas engine power steering pump drive.

I was not able to compare the fan, but the part numbers for the fan used on the M Gas engine and the MD Diesel engine, are the same part numbers so I'm thinking that the MD will use the same spacers. Do you need the spacers? I have no idea, but you will be able to tell if there is enought room for the belt. If not you will need to install spacers. Keep us posted.

The fan spacers are required on the gas tractors so I would assume the same is true for the diesel; especially if the crank pulley is the same between the two. My 400 has 2 spacers. Thanks again for the pictures!
