Red Diamond

We are not sure what you are trying to do. Bolt in place, make the same power, fit with major issues, or just be from the same block design. Is it to be in a truck, power unit, or tractor? Jim

the red diamond is from the 1940's and 50's so diesel engines were still scarce. is this for antique tractor pulling? i have yet to run out of power with the 282 on the track. big power is useless if you cant get it to hook up to the track. but anyhow tractors must be original unless this is those modified units that make no sense to me as they would not last in the field, other than go to the track to see what they can pull. just my view .

660 came from the factory with a D282, IH used this engine in the 560, 660, 706 and the 656. It was used in some combines to. The D301 was basicly the same engine without sleeves, it was used in combines. one of these engines would work without too much trouble.

The
D 361 & 407 are similar in a lot of ways to the Red Diamond gasoline engines. Dry heavy press sleeves and over all size of the block but, no way they will bolt into a 660 without major modifications.
