I have a 460 farmall, the hydraulics on it were weak, I installed a brand new hydraulic pump.
the pump is making a loud sound and sometimes kill's the tractor when it kicks in.
now I have strong hydraulic's but no power steering now. I had power steering before I changed out the pump. does any body know what could be wrong?

Did you replace the power steering pump also? There are two pumps, they are piggy-back. The seal on the suction tube also needs to be replaced between the pump and the filter housing or it will suck air. BTDT.

I would also suggest that you clean the orfice in the safety regulator valve. Orginally there was a screen that helped keep the junk out of the orfice but most of them are long gone.

Click on the 1959 460 in this link. They had a lot of hydraulic problems with their tractor. Hal
