Farmall M front seal removal

I am trying to get the front seal changed, but I'm having a difficult time getting the pin out of the crank shaft that is for the hand crank to engage. The set screw is, well it's set! I have broken 2 bits off and not sure what to do next other than try to drill it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Heat red hot & let cool gradually b/4 trying to drill.
If you do not plan on using the hand crank in the future, you could cut/grind off the ends of the pin. It could be fixed in the future.

Another remedy is to drive the pin out. Support the crankshaft really well and it will usually just shear off that set screw. Then you can install a roll pin instead of the solid pin.
