I picked up a loader off a H that I want to put on a M.Owner thought it was a #31.I need a book with info about mounting on a M. Thanks Bill

They are pretty simple, I have one off an H and now on a 300. The axle clamps bolt around the axles, the front arm bolt to the frame rails and the other doodad that is separate is for alignment and bolts to the front casting. The two pipes on the loader go through the two pipes on this part to keep the loader from swinging from side to side. The doodad has spacers that are used on an H and not on an M, I would save them for future reference or sell them someone probably can use them.

The doodads go on the outside if you are mounting it on an M. If mounting on an H, the doodads go on the inside. That way you don"t need different lengths of bolts. Pretty ingenious really how the IH engineers figured that one out.

Thanks guys thats pretty much how owner explained to me.But when I got it home and started looking it over I could see some things had been moved at some point. Will be fun to get it on the M.Thanks Bill

Be real careful with it. They work good, but dont lift anything too high, especially when turning. dont lift too high and get the tractor on a slope. It puts a lot of weight on the front end. Without power steering, you can drop in a rut and have the wheel fly out of your hand and give you a nasty sprain or break. Our M had power steering which helped.

Go low, slow, and straight if at all possible.

Try not to raise or lower a load while moving. Raise the load, then move slowly.

Just plain be careful, Gene

Do you have any pictures or manual for that? Is it the loader with channel iron for sides and will only fit a narrow front tractor. We have one that been in storage in the weeds for a while now and it looks like there is some mechanical advantage with how the cylinders hook to the pivot point and I wondered if that went higher because of it.The cylinders are beefy and long the way they are so is probably good for snow and manure but how does it compare to a modern style Westendorf loader?
