painting 06 emblems

I am going to be repainting the Farmall name plate emblems and the 706 emblems on my tractor. My question is what color to paint the lettering of McCormick and Farmall and the 706? It looks like the McCormick is white, not cream white. Are all letters and number white or cream white? Is the black background a flat black or gloss black color? Thank you in advance!

when i was doing them i did them in cream and flat black and they looked good. Was it 100% correct don't know and really did not care i was happy .

Thanks Tractor Vet!! I know most tractor guys are not as particular with details as car guys are. On the 706 emblem, I am not a fan of the gold trim area on these models so I my 706 I painted it IH red. Do you or anyone else know why the 06 number emblems had gold on them rather than red or black?

The "gold" on the original 404, 504, 606, 706, 806 and early 656 emblems was an anodized coating that wore off fairly quickly when exposed to sunlight and weather. Under the anodizing is the aluminum emblem. The 1206 emblems did not fade out as quickly away from the gold due to a thicker anodizing layer that was applied when they were made.

Thanks for the information about the "gold" part of the emblem. I like the red instead-makes it stand out a little more than the faded "gold".
