H and SH load pictures

Couple pictures for you guys. 1942 H, and 1953 SH w/M&W live hydraulics. Thats dads truck, '03 GMC 2500HD w/8.1L. Really needed to move the tractors back on the trailer some as we were a little tongue heavy. Traded these off for a really nice 400 on Friday. Dark by the time we got back home so no pics of the 400 yet.

I am by far no trailer loading expert but wouldn't it have been better to load the front one the other way so the rears where closer the trailer tandems?

Just a question

Vito

Possibly but I doubt that would make any difference. I prefer to back onto a deckover whenever possible. Just feels safer and like I have a little more control that way.

If you accidentally pop the clutch, wouldnt you rather rather be backing on than driving?

(quoted from post at 17:34:05 02/17/13) Point well taken. It's all about safety.

Vito

x2 on backing versus driving on.

BUT if it is all about saftey WHY ARE THE CHAINS GOING TO/THROUGH the tires!?! The drawbar is just as easy and a far better tie down point.

Also, you can just hook the bottom of the frame rail and pull forward. It doesn't beat the tractor up as much and it is easy.

I would rather back on, but I don't have a 3/4 ton or a gooseneck. With the car trailers, the front of an H barely gets on before the rear puts too much weight on the tongue. So, my clutch better not pop.
