needle valve

Most of the time you will find it is the three sides on the needle that are hanging up. A little polish with a small file or emery cloth and you should be good to go.

I had one where the new needle valve would sometimes leak and other times stick closed. Turned out the viton tip was molded off center to the metal pin body.

Installing a different, correctly manufactured needle valve solved the problem.

I've had nothing but trouble with viton needles. Normally have to take the carb apart 5-6 times to get it even close to working right, and all I do is take it apart, look at it, and put it back together. I can't see anything to really "do" to change how it works.

I've had people tell me you need to "set" the needle, and others that tell me that's the worst thing I could possibly do. Have problems with them either way.

Tried needles from TSC, A&I, Tisco, and the CaseIH dealer. They're all garbage.
