O.T - Inverted Aero engine

Interesting engine in a motor-glider that I had an opportunity to work on with the A&P (aero mechanic).
It is inverted, pistons point down and spark plugs are near the bottom.
It has a dry sump and pumps the oil up to the yellow tank on the firewall, which is visible at the top-left.

Inverted aero engines were quite common until the 1940s. Incidentally, in steam engine practice an inverted engine would refer to one with the cylinder above the crankshaft, while with internal combustion engines the opposite holds true.
