Just bought a 450LP

Has the LP head and manifold on it with new tires. Norden wide front. It has power steering, but is dang near impossible to turn the wheel. I jacked up the front and, with difficulty, could twist the front tires from left to right. Where should I start looking for a problem? Oh, the engine runs great so the power steering should've been working. It turns easier to the right than to the left with the steering wheel. Thanks, Dan

The 300 probably won't be ready till Hillsboro. Just got the rod bearings in for the Frog tractor and will be working to have it ready for Grandview. If so, Donna will be pulling that one. Can't wait to see my pretty little lady sittin in that driver's seat. I'm a blessed man.

Does it have that wrenchable adjustment on the control valve by the levers? I think it's 2 positions. try moving to the other position. It's been a long time ago for me.

I see the 2 position valve controller in pic 3 up on the cowl on the curved part in front of dash. exercise it a couple of times or put in other position. Sorry, I don't know what it's called.

That knob in picture #3 has nothing to do with the power steering. It just switches that remote valve from single action(power up/gravity down) to double action (power up/power down) for a remote cylinder. After checking ang greasing all bushing and steering gear box if you are still having steering trouble is to provide a dedicated pump if not already equiped. The diverter valve in the factory equiped hyd. system can cause a lot of problems. Armand

(quoted from post at 12:50:36 02/09/13) Is this unusual, D?

ive got 2 450LP's and its the same thig here. both have T/A's but on has IPTO and the other doesnt

the IPTO one is a fairly high serial number, other one is early

Well I filled the reservoir. It was showing only about an inch on the stick. Greased all zirks and replaced the 4 on the king pins (or whatever they're called on tractors)They were stopped up and dry. It steers much better now but still difficult. Turns much easier to the right than the left.

That knob used to have an affect on my power steering but that was years ago and I couldn't remember for sure and my 450 had 2 point hitch and fel.
