Farmall 706 fuel bowl slow to fill?

(quoted from post at 18:32:06 01/24/13) Is it normal for the glass fuel bowl to fill slowly on a Farmall 706? The one on my H fills alot faster.
I can only think of two things that would be causing this problem.
1. Tank not properly vented. Have you tried turning on the gas with the cap off the tank? If it's still the same, then tank is properly vented.

2. Crud, loose rust, or other foreign matter maybe causing blockage at the outlet. How clean is the inside of your tank?

That's all that comes to mind. Good luck..

Thanks, I'll check that. It seems to not affect running, but if it is suppose to be quick I'm guessing there might be crud in there.

One other thing will cause the sediment bowl to fill slowly. If the carburetor is full of fuel the needle valve will be closed and the there will be no fuel flow from the sediment bowl to the carburetor. In order to fill in that situation all the air in the sediment bowl has to pass up through the gasoline as it comes from the tank.
