Hey Guys, I"m looking for some help with a decision. I"m considering the purchase of a "85 IH Hydro 84 with cab, fwa, and loader. It has 4000hrs, new paint, and overall very nice shape. My dilemma is the price. I can buy a couple year old, similar spec (if not better) Kubota or Case IH for the same dollar. The price is around 18k. Any thoughts???? Thanks in advance.

Seems high...even if it's a mint tractor

If you can get a similar size and spec (fwa, loader, cab) 2 year old tractor for 2 k more...I'd be REALLY thinking of reaching for the extra 2k.

What model can you get for 20K?

Yeah I thought so too. I offered him what I felt it was worth
(15k) but he wasn't interested. There are a few Kubota
M5040's and M6040's out there that I've looked at for low to
mid 20's with well under 1k hours. So maybe a little more than
20k but it seems worth it to me.

If you can get a much newer Kubota for just a little bit more, that would be the way to go.

$18K is way too much for that tractor. Go with your gut. Walk away.
