1206 PTO linkage adjustment

you need a 0-600 psi pressure gauge on the test port. i think it's 40 psi or so when you first feel the spring and 240 or 260 at full engagement. don't quote me on the numbers though.

does it turn under power all the time? if it just drifts your brake pads are worn.

IF the valve stem is going ALL THE WAY DOWN then IT should stop as the PTo brake is SPRING loaded and when you ingauge the PTo Hyd pressure that loc.'s the clutches up release the brake . But to be sure that the valve is shutting off you would have to have the Special fitting to go into the test port and a gauge like said below of 0-600 psi . And with the lever in the off position a reading of 0 will be on the gauge and asyou pull the lever up you shoud get somewhere near 30-40 psi and then anyplace between 210 - 250 . BUT YA GOT TO HAVE THE special fitting and a gauge . Now the other thing that will keep the PTO turning is wrapped clutches, and that will call for a rebuild.
