Hyd. Control valve leaking on my 400

When the ram gets to the end of its stroke, fluid comes out of the top portion of the control valve. I think it is exiting the o-ring on the lever shaft.(#29 and #18 and #19) Which means I will need to pull the control valves off the tractor to replace them. Is the fluid bypassing a different seal and I should replace that one as well? Is something worn out in the control valve that lets the fluid go somewhere it should not be?
Thank you
Steve

I thought that the lever had to come out to the side which would mean that the other control valve would be in the way. I will remove the top and see if I can move it the other way to get it out. I would LOVE it, to not have to remove them if that is possible.
Thank you
Steve

I assume you are working on a IH Farmall 400. If so, yes you have to take the valve off as the shafts go out both sides. Held together with a roll pin. That little square block you will find inside is just to keep the roll pin from falling down into the valve if it comes out, or when you drop it while putting it back together. No kit , all individual parts all the years I worked for IH. Lots of o-rings between valves, under cap, and there are very tiny o-rings on the unlatching piston. That piston can cause excessive oil to build in end of valve but I still doubt it would make it leak, but stranger things have happened. Maybe internal parts have come loose where unlatching piston goes.
