No gas to the carb

Just went to start the M, hit the starter button and it turned over but refused to fire. Tweeked a couple things, hit the button, wouldnt fire. I had oil dripping from the spot where the oil gauge goes into the block (didnt tighten enough) so I have oil circulating, hooked up my spark tester, hit the button and the shocked i took almost put me on the ground so I have spark. I turned the gas off, took out the drain plug and no gas came out and I do have flow through the gas line. I took the bowl off, cleaned everything again, reset the float to 1 5/16" like the manuel said, put it all back together and still no gas going to the carb. am I setting the float wrong? the book shows the measurement with the float level.

Blow air from float seat out, also blow air back up line to tank. Make sure tank has vloume of gas to push float valve off seat.
My thoughts at least

With the bowl off, put a pan under the carb and turn on the fuel. If nothing comes out, wiggle the float. it should allow fuel. If fuel does come out, lift the float gently to see if it shuts off when raised to the correct height. It is more difficult to measure the float when mounted because raising it carefully to the shut off point doesn't use gravity, it uses your sensitivity holding it up. Jim.

I have something that folats around in the gas tank on my SMTA and plugs outlet from tank to sediment bowl. Might try removing sediment bowl and see if fuel comes out of tank, if not blow air through inlet to sediment bowl.

I had a similar experience with no gas.. I ended up taking a coat hanger and made a poker. Poked the sediment hole from inside the tank, and it allowed lots of junk through. HTH

It is not a plugged fuel line/pickup/sed bowl.

You have to be careful when pushing the float with your finger. It is very easy to push it too hard. Does it feel sticky at all? I assume you just rebuilt the carb? It has to be in the float adj or needle area from what I am seeing. Are you sure you are measuring the float hight correctly? Just throwing some stuff out there to think about.
