Farmall C compression

Does anyone know what the compression should be on a C Farmall, they check out to be 90, except one is 75, It just doesn't run right. I have rebuilt the carb, could the compression be the problem. It is hard starting too. Thanks for any info.

The one cycl being low shows some problem but it should start good does it have a mag or a dist as thats probably the problem if the idle circut in the carb is clean that circut can be hard to clean and sometimes you need a small drill to get the bottom of that passage real clean.

Low compression does in fact cause starting problem which can be from many things. Some easy to fix some not so easy. Could be as simple as sticking rings or valves easy fix with a cup of ATF . 1/4 cup of ATF in each cylinder let sit 24 hours and recheck compression. If it has gone up sticking rings and or carbon if it does not help then may have other things wrong.

I found out the the distributor was loose and changed the timing. I got that set and now just have to check the gap. I hope it starts after this. I find it funny that the two bolts will not hold it tight and had to put a washer in so that the timing stays in the right spot. Does any of this sound right?
