power steering for M

I've got a Farmall M that i put a charlynn power steering on. The trouble I'm having is the fan blades are going to hit the pump. Does anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this? Are there spacers for the fan that would work with the water pump and the bracket and bolts for that? Or is there some other remedy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Three suggestions. One is to clip the rear edge of the fan blades, the other is to find a used fan, and bend it to clear on a bench with a jig to keep it straight. The third is to use an electric fan with sensor to push air out forward. Jim

could i cut about an inch off the back of the entire fan blades, that's about how much of it hits? and would this affect the cooling of the tractor?
Thank you.

Kits always came with spacers for the fan. Not all that much, about 1/4 or 3/8th inch. Would not be too difficult to fabricate. You have to alter the drive of water pump some . Can't picture it exactly but you use longer bolts with spacers that go through the holes in impeller driver.

good chance it would effect the cooling AND probably knock the fan out of balance, do you like changing water pumps???

There needs to be a carefully measured (in several places) 1/2 inch clearance between the fan and the radiator core. If it is much more, a spacer could be machined to center the fan and move it closer. Farmalls are over cooled unless pulling a plow in 90 degree weather for hours. If the fan is pretty close to the radiator, Trimming the fins will be OK. It must stay ballanced, so care should be taken to remove very equal amounts. Tin snipping is not the answer. Jim

Would anyone have one of these spacers or know where a guy could get one? I need about 3/4 inch to clear the pump pulley.

I dont know whats is available in your area, in SW Iowa we have a lot of salvage yards that we could look in. It wasnt a complicated part, just a steel ring about 3" in diameter, you just stacked 2 or more to get clearance with 4 longer bolts as needed.
