I just got this tractor and it would not start with out either. I changed the glow plugs and it started fine for a couple of weeks, but now its back the way it was. I used after market glow plugs do you think they could be shot already? When I crank this motor I do not get any exhaust smoke, is this normal for these tractors? After starting the power is up and it runs fine. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Check the glow plugs with an Ohm meter. Then look for fuel leaks or check for any fuel lines that might be cracked or not fitting good ( cross threaded or such). Any place air can get in will lose the prime. Might change fuel filters too.

first thing to do is check them "new" glow plugs, as that sounds like your problem. no glow plug... no smoke. and these engines dont like starting fluid.

Are you holding them glow plugs down for 45-50 seconds, even with 80 degree days you still need them all the time, also when starting hold throttle lever at least 3/4 .Mine is also hard to start and I know my injection pump is weak so that could be something. Also do you have full voltage at the wires for the glow plugs.Thought I would throw my 2 cents, things I ran into with mine.runs good after its started.
