886 Switch on floor?

Just got my 886 back from the dealer where they installed a new T.A. Tonight I noticed a new spring loaded button/switch on the floor that I didn't have before (I don't think), and it seems to be connected to the transmission area of the tractor, and has electrical wires coming out of it. Anyone know what this switch is for/what it does?

Probably the diff lock suggestion button. You press it to suggest that the tractor's differential locks up and drives both wheels. Sometimes it actually does.

It had to have been there before. Dealers don't just go doing extra work for no reason. They will try to charge you for things they did NOT do, but they certainly won't go to all the extra work to install a diff lock if you didn't ask them to.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it was there before, but was painted red and the floor mat was over it. Now it is bright silver and they cut out the mat so the button is exposed. I never knew it had differential lock.

You mean like if one rear tire is on ice
and you stomp the differential lock it
doesn't make a bit of difference?

Yup, pretty much. That's why I call it the SUGGESTION button.

You "suggest" that the tractor's diff locks up, and it makes the final decision for itself. Normally it doesn't feel like locking up.
