F14 fuel pump

the F-12 /F-14 carbs have a drain at the bottom of the fuel bowl section. Drain it out completely if the tractor has been running. Pull the tractor with another vehicle with the spark turned off. Make sure it is in 3rd gear and the fuel turned on. now, open the carb bowl drain, if fuel comes out, then the pump is working.

Quite possible that the new gas with ethanol has disolved the diaphram. You'll need to replace the diaphram with a new one make from material not affected by ethanol. do NOT use a NOS kit. Get one of the new ones from Rice Equipment or Fordson house. Be prepared for sticker shock.

Pete, Disconect the fuel line to the carb and crank. You should get a good blast of fuel shot 6-8" out of line. If not first remove and clean check valves in pump. Second still no better Check push rod for wear should be 7 1/16" long
with good flat ends. Or complete rebuild kits are avable. oldiron29
