I installed a ta eliminator kit on 1086 and the parts supplier failed to inform me or assume that I knew to replace the solid speed transmission main shaft with a hollow shaft with center drilled out or have the old shaft drill out .....I became aware that one should also replace the solid main speed transmission shaft with a hollow or drilled out shaft for lubrication after I purchased a ta eliminator kit for my other ih 1066 from a different parts house who inform me that I needed to. I hate to split the 1086 again and replace the shaft ... Any suggestions ?? Can I get by without replacing the shaft or risk some type of trans failure or bearing failure??

There will be enough oil splashing around I wouldn't worry about it. All it does is let the oil flow to the bearing in the middle of the shaft. It would have been nice if it was in there. There have been a lot of TA deletes done same as yours due to whatever (not knowing, didn't want to spend the cash) If it bothers you that much do the splits to change it.
