working to restore IH 240, have a problem with locating replacement steering wheel shaft on manual tractor. Had been butchered in past and only way to fix is to replace the shaft.
Need a source for this hard to find part.

Richard, here are a couple of tractor salvage yards I deal with on a regular basis when I need parts for my Farmall 460.

1). All State Ag of Wisconsin: 877-530-2010

Ask for John. He's very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. Their prices are considerably higher than others I've dealt with, but John has always come through for me when no one else could.

2). J & P Salvage (Fredericktown, Mo.): 573-783-7055

Ask for John here also. Their prices are extremely reasonable. It's a smaller place though so they don't always have what I need. J & P is the first place I call when I need something. There customer service is also good.

searching for steering wheel replacement shaft for IH 240 utility, also a steering wheel as the existing is buggered-up. per yesterday's tractor forum one could be located thru you.
can you folks help me out?
