Farmall head repair

I need have a MD head repaired. Which is best? The weld method or the pinning method? Costs?

Nevada Cylinder Head {owned by Arnolds Motor (I think)} can weld them but it is $1000. I always have my heads welded but I always keep the ones I have worked on.

I had a head repaired for skid loader it had 27 cracks in it, I took it to a local automotive machine shop and they used the pinning method, has been trouble free ever since

I have a head that I should take in and check for cracks. I might want the money to finish the project...
