Farmall SH loader issues

Hey guys! Having some issues with my loader on my SH and
hoping you can help me out. Hopefully the pictures show up
clearly but i have an M&W live pump behind the distributor
with 3 spool valve in the loader. 1/2" pressure line from
pump to valve, 1/2" return from spool to loader upright
reservior, 1/2" line from bottom of loader upright reservior to
top of gutted belly pump and 3/4" line from bottom of belly
pump housing to supply side of pump.

Basically when i go to raise the loader, there is a long delay
before the loader moves at all. I know the pump is only 10 or
12 gpm but it seriously takes close to a minute of pulling the
lever back before the loader ever moves. Once it starts
moving it does pretty good unless i stop and then there is the
delay again. Also, when i go to lower the loader, i have to
very carefully as it seems to be dropping and not pressuring
down as it should. So...any ideas?????????

I was thinking i need to replace the 1/2" lines from valve to
reservior and reservior to belly pump with 3/4" to feed the
pump more volume. What do you think???

Sorry for the long post but thanks for the help!

Lift the loader one foot off of the ground. with the tractor brakes locked, or wheels blocked, go up front and jump up and down on it trying to make it feel springy like a diving board. If it does, it has air trapped in the cylinders. Bleeding them should reduce the effect, especially if the cylinders are placed horizontal to work the air out. Jim

Guessing that would be my problem! Before i put the loader on, i replaced all the hydraulic lines. When i back out of the shop with the bucket about two feet off the ground, it springs up and down a good 6 or 8" when i drop off the concrete door track.

Is this my only culpret or do i still need to consider increasing the diameter of those return lines or look for other problems? Thank you!

The 3/4 line would be a good thing also for the return. Your problem is like other post said you do have some air trapped and working the system will work out after working the system for some time will sooner of later remove itself but you doo need larger lines to and from pump the control and resivour. Take the fill cap off the res to allow air to be able to bleed out of the system.

Valves are marked in and out so I know thats right! Wll get all the return lines changed out to 3/4". The pressure port out of the pump is only 1/2" so would 3/4" really help on that side?

The only place I'd up the hose size would be 'maybe' on the intake to the pump. Everything else will run just fine on 1/2" hose.

That port at the regulator is marked in? Wish now that I'd have looked at mine while I was out feeding this morning. :>(

Hose size is not your problem. Hose size only affects the speed, not the response.

Air in the lines, a few full up and down cycles of the loader should work that out.

IIRC, the M&W pump is only 3-5GPM, not 10-12. Not that it matters, but my OCD is kicking in bad this morning.
