SA tire leaking calcium

I have to admit that this one got away from me, the rim is pretty much shot. The big issue I have is that there is no drain on the rim, just the valve stem and its not leaking from the stem.

So the question is, whats the best way to drain this tire down so I can handle it and get it to the shop and have it changed out with a new rim?

I can see it taking for ever if I have to drain it through the valve stem, any suggestions other than calling a tire truck in and have them hoist it up and take it to their tank to drain? Pump it out?

Thank You,

I had a 14.9/38 tire that was loaded that blew through the rim and I was able to siphon out most of the calcium with a 6 foot piece of garden hose. I started with the hole on top, and after I filled each bucket I would move the tire and rim so that the hole was lower. To start the siphon I just stuck the hose as far in as possible, put my thumb over the end and pulled it out and down into the bucket and let my thumb off the hole, all very quickly. It was not a fun day, but it could have been worse. If you don't already have a hole that big in your tube you might want to just drain it out the valve hole with a small hose.

Yep, I guess thats my only option, its going to be a long, long day since I dont have a hole in the tire or rim, just the stem to work with.

Unless I can find a weak spot and punch a hole through since the rim is trash anyways. If it was only eaten up on a flat that would be one thing, I could repair the rim, but, the worst damage is centered around a mounting lug.

Simple put 15lbs air in the tire jack it up then rotate tire so the stem is on the bottom. Then unscrew the big nut that holdt the valve to the stem. Now the fluid will come out letting the jack down. Repeat the process till the fluid is out keep doing that untill fluid is out. A very little will remain the you can remove the tire and tube and then you can remove the tube and tire and clean up the rim and paint. You can put a hose on the stub and catch the fluid.
