SN on Super H

I just got a different SH and was checking the Serial numbers. The Number on the bell housing plate is 19--- The number on the right side of block is 222--. Are these to be the same numbers? i have another SH and these numbers match. Has something been changed along the years. Previous owners are not with us anymore to ask.

Most don't match on those tractors. You got lucky on the other one. You have a engine # that was put in a stage 2 SH tractor sometime from tractor serial # 19234 to 20706 in november of 1953 and sounds like things are original to me.

For what its worth , my '53 has a chassis SH 16410 J and the engine SH 19064. As D Slater said, they usually don't match.

In the 19000 range of chassis serial numbers the motor serial numbers will be between 2725 and 2735 higher than the chassis number.For example chassis # 19220 would have a motor number 21495. The number spread between chassis and motor got progressively higher as production of the Super H went on. hope this helps, Pat in Wis
