I-12 Questions

Is the serial number sequence for a W-12, O-12, and I-12 the same? I have verified that the tractor I bought is an I-12 by the serial tag along with pintle hitch on the rear and that it was orginally yellow from paint flecks underneath. I'll probably have other questions as I want to get it running since it hasnt run in 5 years, but still turns over with the electric starter. Prolly have to look over the fuel pump, carb, magneto before it will run.

Any help is appreciative.

Jerry

I-12 W-12 and O-12 each had their own set of serial numbers. The 14's continued with the same set of #s.
I have 2 I-12's. One is kind of plain with 24's on the back and round spokes on the front. The other one has more options and modifications.
It too has the pintle hitch and also the front bumper and electric start.
The modified one is #IS2346
Any pics of yours?

The only ones that had a common serial number sequence were the O-12 and the Fairway-12. They were numbered together, the O-12 had serial numbers with the prefix OS whilst the Fairawy-12 had the prefix FOS., The I-12 had their own numbers with the prefix IS, the W-12 their own numbers with the prefix WS and the Farmall F-12 had the prefix FS

Attached is the only photo I have of it at the moment. Ill get some others once I get apart of the serial # plate and other angles. My serial number is 1358. Guess its a 1935?

Looks like it was built in July of 1936. I would suggest getting the collectors originality guide by Oscar Will and Todd Markle. Lots of good info on F and W series IHC tractors.
