How much?

I've been on this roller coaster dozens of times. Someone "threatens" to make a run of some hard-to-find part or accessory. Everybody gets excited until they find out the price. It's always too much. They can never get enough people together for the minimum order.

I don't know if these are any good or not. I've never ordered one. I do have one of these plows, but don't use it much. The on line inventory says they are in stock. So here is the link. The outfit is Agri Supply, which is a small chain in the Southeast.

AgriSupply's replacement Plow Chief points are made in China. I've bought and used some, and may buy some more. My opinion is that they are better than nothing, better than a worn-out one, and not much better than that. They don't fit right, they don't wear well, and at least one person has had one that had a huge air pocket in it. If you're doing a few plow days or your garden once a year, these will suffice (but have some extras). If you want to go plow several acres or more, you need something better.

Myself and a pal, who are both in manufacturing,
have a small "speciality part" light manufacturing
venture/hobby.

That being said, the very same problem does arise;
no one wants to pay for the solution that they
need. You can usually find a few die-hards that
are willing to pay what it actually costs to
manufacture a part, and that is pleasure; but it
seems most guys want you to do it for them as an
act of near-charity.

I guess we (myself included) are just used to
cheap parts.

(quoted from post at 03:11:47 01/13/12) Take the cheap one and weld some hard facing on it and it will last.

Perhaps. The pictures I've seen elsewhere show the guys adding weld to the entire point. If you're not buying rod in bulk, it may be cheaper to just buy another point.

According to old IH literature, you're supposed to wear out points roughly twice as often as a share. With the A-S points, my experience is about 4 points to a share (without being hard-faced).

At 8 bucks each, I'm not complaining. I didn't expect much and I got what I paid for. I'm glad they are on the market. At least something is available. It is disappointing to know that it takes just as much money to make parts that fit right as it does to make parts that sort-of sometimes fit right.

You also have to watch the top of the point where it meets the shin (RSPC) or moldboard (PC). Some sit slightly lower and require a bead of weld to meet the parts at the right height. Otherwise, premature wear of the other parts will occur.

Why are you asking me in capital letters?I am not making them. I stated, to email me & I would give you the name & phone number of the man that is going to make them. I can tell you this,I would bet they will be alot less than OE IHC.

I am asking in capital letters because you are not answering.

If you're going to advertise, put a price out there or no sale. I'm not playing the "email me to get a phone number for someone else who will give you the price" game.

Give me a price and I'm in for four. No price, forget it.

Mr mKirsch, Know one is suppose to sell anything on this forum. I am not selling anything. I have helped many nice people find parts for there plows. If we can't help each other find parts than we should get off this forum right now. I am not playing a email game. You have had some good advice on this forum. You have 2 choices $7.99 points or OE . They both have them in stock. I am sorry if you think you have been miss led or offended in any way.
